Minimum Character limit....

Would there be a way to significantly lower the minimum character limit for the posts? There have been several times that all I've wanted to do is post a smiley of some sort because I think a post is funny or what not but it won't let me so I have to type in more fluff just to get the post to go through. I'm sure this limit is in place to prevent spamming of some sort or what have you but just thought I'd ask!

Personally, I hate smilies. If you notice, I use very few of them. Mainly the ones. I would much prefer if we couldn't simply post a smiley face and move on. This is a DISCUSSION board after all. The idea of posting nonsensical facial expressions without commenting is worthy of an AOL chatroom.

Some forums with For Sale/Trade/Wanted sections have a minimum post count requirement, with the stipulation of having useful info in their posts. So new people who pad their post count to get into the FS section and sell their crap and then leave get a warning and all their crap posts deleted real quick. This promotes better content and gets people to contribute something worth reading. I think it's a good policy, even though it doesnt have anything to do with what you're talking about lol.

Haha! I can understand that. There are just sometimes people will post something funny and all I want to say is "" and be done because I found the post funny but can't do that. It's not a big deal to me and I could care less about padding a post count.

Nope...I just tested it with just the "" and it gave me the message box telling me that there was a 10 character limit. 3 character limit is just about perfect IMO.
