Anyone know a good source for manual window regulators? I had a pair of the Lmc ones fail on me almost immediately after installation and am back to using my worn out stock units. This is for a ‘73 single cab.

Classic Industries is probably a safe bet.
That being said, there’s a new old stock RH side regulator on ebay right now for $55 + $22 shipping (search GM 6270870)

Edit: by searching 6270869, ebay is showing a LH side regulator for a whopping $135.95 (obo) + $31.63 shipping. Not sure if you got that F’You money but you’d have direct replacements lol

I appreciate it, my original regulators are working their just not as good as they once were. I might look into classic industries next time I have the doors apart. I’m just hoping that some of the new production stuff is up to snuff, the lmc ones both went into the trash can.

I’d have to go back to find where I bought new regulators (it was not LMC), but I’m not impressed by the results.

I installed both new regulators and new window felt, and my windows are still hard to roll up and down. I can work them okay, but they are tight enough that my wife needs two hand to move them up and down. Maybe it’s an adjustment needed, but I couldn’t get it any better.

is your channel piece that is welded to the door not bent, straight, and lubricated? since that has to let the thing roll in it, maybe it got slightly bent into the ball thing or doesnt allow it to smoothly transition

@Jacob Miller,

Classic Industries. That's where I got mine. I haven't put it in yet but they look pretty sturdy.

Let me know how you like em, I managed to re-adjust and lube my stock regulators to get them working a little better but it’d be nice to have them like new again

Let me update. We got ours from classic parts, not classic industries because they had both regulators in stock. The electric regulators had to bolts and two studs (in regulator) with nuts. When I tried to install drivers regulator, the two bolts I had from electric regulator (1/4 20) it would not thread into new regulators.
Go to Ace hardware and nothing SAE or metric will fit new regulators (go figure, stamped made in Taiwan) so now I have to decide to ship them back and buy somewhere else or just tap them out to 1/4 20… can anything just wok first time? So I retract my earlier support of classic parts.. stay away Jacob

Jacob, the drivers regulator needed a tap to make them 1/4 20 and it went in like a champ. Had to lightly sand down the new rollers to actually fit into the channel’s and then it worked great. The passenger door regulator required no tap or sanding. We will tackle the passenger door Monday.
