I have an 84 Chevy K20 with a 350 that I just refreshed. Really, the only bottom end work I did was a new Cam from Summit, HV oil pump, timing chain, and new rear main and gaskets. I did lap the valves and cleaned all the carbon build up off the engine.
Prior to this, I had good oil pressure, now, good at first but falls to 1-3 psi at idle once warm. I went back to a stock oil pump, tried SE 40 oil, new filter, new oil filter adapter gasket and still the same. Driving the oil pressure is fine.
I'm thinking there's only 2 other things, the relief valve on the oil filter adapter is bad or the new cam diameter is less than the stock and I'm loosing pressure. Inspection of the bearings looked good so I did not replace.
Thoughts?? Am I missing something else?
