84 C10 with a TH350, tilt column, column shift. I was swapping out my shifter and lost the spring in the column. I have one to replace it but will it cause any problems if I leave it in there? Will it eventually fall out?
TIA,
Kevin D

I think you're going to find you'll get more interaction here than on 67-72 trucks. I think that spring would just drop into the shift bowl but I'm not sure there's enough room to fall out. I doubt you'll have an issue if you don't have one by now.

I also believe it probably just fell into the bottom of the shift bowl and will likely just stay there and chill.

I think the only thing you have to watch for is its more apt to be able ot be bumped by your arm into something else because isnt reverse and park gated from just straight pushing up when in neutral D L2 or L1 or whatever they mark for a th350

but like, im not saying its a hit a bump bump im saying touch your dashboard admiring how pretty it is then oh **** a deere and your first reaction is then throwing your arm straight up in a panic which isnt something i hope youre finding yourself in

I had the Chevelle for 21 years and sold it 3 years ago, bought my 84 square with the profits :)
I didn't get a response on the other website so I posted here. Thanks to everyone for your help,
Kevin

I've got a 68 that was my mom's for 30 years prior to me owning it. She had a 68 and then a 72 when I was growing up so I have a lot of fond memories of those cars.

68s are cool, kind of a special car: new body style, factory strike etc.

It's a bit of an oddball but I like them.

I've always been a fan of the half-breed grille. It's unique in a way that I like.
