I pulled off the passenger fender on my 80’ C10 to find these two sockets just hanging. Does anyone know what they connect to?

The one with 2 green wires is a/c pressure switch I believe.

I agree with Honky King Jr. on the green wire one but I can't really make out the other.

Yeah, I can’t see what’s going on with that other one. Is it clipped down or flopping around? What’s it look like inside the connector if you can get to it. The other one plugs into the A/C accumulator.

Correct on the plug with the green wires, low pressure cut off switch for AC compressor. Concerning the other plug.. It's possible that weather, heat, and age have altered the color of those wires, so I'm not positive on the following.. It's possible that's the plug for the normally open oil pressure switch for controlling the choke heater.. Tan w/ trace comes from fuse panel.. Blue goes to choke heater and, (if equipped) idle stop solenoid..

Yeah 2X - that it is the connector to the oil pressure switch.

It is kind of deceiving because the LT & DK BLU leads are spliced together inside the plug body - so three leads feed just two sockets.

Thank you! My truck was originally a 6 cyl, but someone down the line changed it to a 305 V8. Would it be safe to just delete it?
You could. Do you have an electric choke? If so, what was used to power it? Plan on using an electric choke down the road? Find out where the light blue wire goes. That could be handy to have, to power a choke. I mean, that's why it's there- who cares if it was ment for a 6. That connector (should) end up hidden behind the intake anyways....

Yeah, in 1980 only the 6 bangers (250's & 292's) were required to have that circuit/switch to power the choke heater. And it was only to comply with the emerging EPA regulations - the choke was started to be pulled open as soon as the engine oil pressure was established (like 10 psi closes the switch). The bigger engines were not subject to the choke heater circuit until a few years later.

The only good thing about that system is that the CHOKE light on the dash also served as a low oil pressure warning light. If it came on while the engine was running - your oil pressure was below 10 pounds.

So yes, you can safely & certainly eliminate it.
