Just curious......was there remnants of the ghost of trailer-hitch past on your truck? Seems thats when lights get wonky, or even worse, discombobulated.
I can take a picture tomorrow but underneath is the bundle from each tail light joined by a plug and the a cut off wire probably for the license plate since the sockets are completely missing for those

Here’s a pic underneath that look to be the originals,, and I completely forgot to check the ground behind the taillight and it’s all rusted in there and the prong thingy broke off, so will fix that and find somewhere else to ground it

I didn’t see a ground on the passenger tail light , I will look again but would it just be one side?

Off hand I don't know so I looked up this diagram.

You must be registered for see images attach

Diagram note say colors may vary from year to year. But you can clearly see grounds on both sides. Follow the ground wire from the passenger side tail light and you'll find out for sure.

Very important - If you didn’t reinstall the cluster ground wire you will never get the instrument panel to work properly. Every gauge and light on the panel needs a ground, and with the panel ground wire disconnected you will have the panel devices trying to “find” a path to ground through other devices.

I don't recall seeing one on one side when I went through this recently. But cleaning all the grounds, connections, and replacing the flasher helped to correct all the gremlins I was dealing with. Doing each fix helped some little by little, ultimately I had to do everything I mentioned to fix it all. Then, after getting them to work, I noticed the turn signal switch was soft when switching to one side, it was split where the arm screws on. A new turn signal switch and everything works now. Then, I couldn't stand to look at the one broken turn signal lense, so I got new ones...lol...

The new led flashers didn’t help anything so I just replaced them with regular 552’s and took out led bulbs and put in regular bulbs, took out cluster for those bulbs and took out my headlight switch it was corroded and two terminals not so great, got a harness on the way

That does not look good. I have heard many stories of problems going to LEDs on an incandescent vehicle. Myself, I refuse to go led. You may be golden after fixing the harness and replacing the headlight switch.

My truck had similar, not exact, issues. It was solved when I pushed a wiring harness together for a tight fit. This harness was right above the steering column with 7-10 wires going to it.

Hope this helps. The blinker Grimmlin drive me crazy. Where does on get a led flasher relay. Best wishes

I replaced the wiring harness for the headlight switch since it was messed up and replaced the old switch since it had corrosion. I got the led flasher relay off Amazon, but returned them and bought new ones like the original metal ones. I havent cut on anything yet cause im waiting on license plate lights to hook up too
