That makes me feel old cuz I recall more of the pressed on the axle full bearing. Though I do remember a few of this type bearing in GM cars but I do remember now most of the truck axles I worked on were 3/4 and 1 ton with full floaters. Car axles were back in the street racing days and many were converted to Ford 9in, a few Dodge 8 3/4in, Dana 60's in the Full Size Dodge cars and the 12 Bolt Chevy axles were in 64-67 Malibu's and El Caminos and they weren't the stock rear ends other than the one 65 Malibu SS so who knows what they came out of but they were pressed on the axles too IIRC. Damn, been alot longer than I realize. The fun days when working on **** was still fun and not work.Ford 9”, Dodge stuff and pre 65 GM and BOP had a bearing pressed on the axle. Any Chevy 8.2,7.5,7.6,8.5,8.6 and 12 bolt car and truck have axle to roller bearing direct contact with the bearing being pressed into the housing.
