I was wondering if anybody knows if the main leaf, the one with the bolts, is the same on all the SWB squares?
I was pressing out the old bushings yesterday and the outer metal sleeve came out with the rubber bushing still in it. When I tried to press the rubber out the metal got all kinds of distorted - so it's time for a replacement spring or sleeve.

There were differences. They were made in 2 different lengths (52" and 56") and the thickness of the main leaf can vary. Also, some springs used a different size bushing in one end or the other than other springs.

That was my worst fear. Guess it's time to measure the parts and hit some junk yards.

Thanks!

Well a little digging and I'm in good shape. For the replacement bushings I have to remove the outer sleeve. Finally something is going right!!

I misread your original post. Yes, the replacement bushings are made with the sleeve in them. You got lucky they pressed out too. Often, you have to burn out the rubber and cut out the sleeve.

I did have to cut out two of the sleeves but all of the rubber pressed out with no issues. I have seen several stories of having to burn them and I am really glad I didn't have to do that. I don't mind the smell of rubber - when I'm at the track!

I'm looking to replace the bushings on the leaf springs front and back with urethane. Looking in the Classic catalog, it shows 2 different OD bushings for 87 V10, that are about an inch off my 2 1/2" wide leafs. Any advice on which sets would work?

Does anyone know the factory leaf spring bushing sizes? I've got a pile of poly bushings laying around and need to put new bushings in my front springs, both eyes and maybe the frame bushing. I poked around online and found 1.5" and 1.1". Is the front of the spring 1.5" and the rear of the spring 1.1"? or both the same?
