I've been reading that short headers are about the same as the stock manifolds they come with. I've got headers on my spreadsheet at $150 so I'm sure that price is for short ebay tubes. My engine came with the manifolds, so I'd rather not waste money. I'm not finding any info stating "these long tubes fit w/o cutting the frame". I may be asking too much, I not too familiar with the geometry of the headers/vehicle. As of now if I go headers, they will be long, fit w/o cutting and within my price range ($200). I don't want to risk buying something and having to do something to "make" them fit that I really don't want to do.

If you all don't care to share what headers you've used for your swap, be it long or short, with manufacturer, part # price and experience with them. Also feel free to tell any mods you had to make to get them to fit (frame grind etc.). If you went from stock man. to shorts the difference would be great also. Thinking maybe a sticky, depending on how much info we get.

Example:
1. Vehicle
2. Make
3. Part #
4. Price
5. Mods
6. Experience
7. Compared to stock if experienced

Thanks In Advance guys

Those are small block headers, not LS headers.

In my experience, nothing beats the Hooker cast iron LS manifolds (8501HKR) for LS swap fitment.

Oops. Yes, indeed. They fit all SBCs, which I assumed from the 5.3, but if it's an LS, then nope.

1996-98 Vortec headers question

Please Help! I have spent hours on the phone and computer trying to find long tube ceramic coated headers that fit a true Vortec motor that I have put in my 1986 K20 4x4. I want to match port shape which is the rounded edge square ports. Hooker told me the block bolts are slightly different than other non Vortec blocks and that normal sbc headers won't fit correctly or would have to be slotted. I REALLY don't want to shell out cash for custom headers but I don't want cheap junk either. Just want to do this right the first time. Please help!

This is on a carb setup, no smog, 4" lift, keeping serpentine setup, 700r4 Trans

This is my first post ever, I apologize if this has been answered or is in the wrong spot
