I have a 84 c10 and put a 92 5.7 in it myself and pretty much done. Have to run a electric fuel pump cause the block isn't machined all of the way for a push rod. Then some wiring and should be on the road again. Sucks to not be able to use a mechanical pump. I'm sure someone here has ran into this. I just assumed it was machined since it has a block off plate

Welcome to GMSB. You can always find an external electric fuel pump. You don't have to go with in tank fuel pumps. I'd probably go with a 5-8lb pressure pump if you're running a carb. Remember to run it as close to the tank as possible. If running dual tanks, I'd put it right in front of the switching valve so I only needed 1 pump.

You can still pump your gas pedal. It's squirting fuel from the carb bowl, has nothing to do with what kind of pump it has.

I have fuel injection now. But thanks guess I never put to gather that it doesn't make a difference.

Just running one gas tank and already have a electric pump i think its 4-7 psi and regulator with a inline gauge. I just hope it all works out i was going to rebuild the factory block but found out it was cracked by the machine shop. Found this motor and the guy i got it from said it was good so we will see.... Probably going to get a new cam and gear drive soon if everything is good. If not time to take it back out lol

If you are doing a rebuild why not stroke it to a 383?
