Is this the camper wiring on my 1981 C20 Camper Special

I think the wiring shown below in the next post is camper wiring. What do you think?

Okay, this appears to be truck wiring, although after some thought, this may be wiring for a slide in camper. I didn't bring the key to my filing cabinet at work, so I can't look at the wiring diagrams to see what wires should be back at the tank.

And I did try the links for the wiring diagrams in the library, nothing would load. Have searched for rear harnesses and I can't find any hits with pictures of the actual harness.

That looks like the wiring used to hook up trailer lights, not something factory, unless they were using those same rolls of 4 color ribbon. Have you traced them to an origin?

Haven't traced the origin yet. Was planning to this weekend while I am crawling around underneath the truck swapping shocks. If it just plugs in somewhere it'll get unplugged and removed. If it's spliced, I'll disconnect the battery and get it out of that location, and make sure it's protected from contacting any metal.

My '79 Camper Special still has an unused factory harness taped up in that location. Slide-in campers often had their own taillights and clearance lights, so the typical light wires would have been useful.

From your recollection did it look something like this inside the frame rail? This is definitely factory by the looks of it. I'll be killing the power to the system to pull those wires under the truck.

Something like that, yes. I'll try to remember to crawl under and get a picture. And to refresh my memory.

The color aren't right for a trailer harness. I bet your right it's the camper wiring. Trailer wires are yellow, brown green, white.

Now my curiosity has been bumped. I will go look at mine after the rain moves east

It appears to be the camper lighting wiring.

Yup, that's it. Good find
It's been raining crazy here the last few days and of course I have the truck out from under the carport. I am still going to check under mine, now cuz I want to see if that got butchered underneath like the fuel system and the tank selector got before I bought it.
