Intermediate steering shaft seal

I've come across an interesting little discrepancy with my 1977 Chevy C10. It is a heavy suspension vehicle. The intermediate steering shaft coupling that mates to the bottom of the steering column is larger than any other I've seen on any truck of same body style and common replacements are too small to fit. The jeep/chevy seals that are commonly sold are about a 1/4 inch too small and all new couplings I've found are too small to mate to the steering column which has a 1 inch spline. I have found seals with GM# 7802919 and these are too small. In the picture the coupling on the left is the part from my vehicle and the one on the right is a replacement part I purchased and have compared to 4 other 73-85 vehicles which they all seem to have. I'm just curious if anyone else has experienced this and if possibly found a replacement seal. This would save me having to buy a whole intermediate shaft to work around this seal.

What is the height of your part? I'll go measure mine to compare.

You looked at earlier years too? There was a design change after '77 or '78.

Two different steering shafts were used in these trucks. As stated it changed over in 77/78 and differences were the spline count on the power steering box and the connection at the firewall.
