Improving 1982 4wd suburban mpg 350

Somewhere on this wonderful place called the internet, there was a list of mods to do to improve mpg, changing heads was a big one, anyone else seen this or have info?

the number one thing you can do to improve MPG is to slow down. I would also like to point out that this costs nothing. highdesertranger

look up the "Cliff Ruggles" q-jet modification book then order the special tapered metering rods he sells. do all the mods in stage one install the new rods adjust per the book and enjoy the extra MPG I went from 12mpg to 18mpg 1978 c15 GMC 1/2 ton 355CID 700r4 3:73 RR.
