What is a quick easy way to ID my tranny? i am looking to switch from a straight 6 to a 350 and wanna make sure of compatability......any advice?

Do you have an automatic? Do you have a manual? How many gears does it have?What year is the truck?

Does it look more like Bruce or Caitlyn?

You can use a nut-tap to figure out if it is pre or post surgery as well if you are feeling frisky.

It will bolt up, your kinda in a tricky spot though typically 6 cyl installations used less fibers and steels in the clutch packs and a looser converter. Trucks were a grey area,maybe a low power transmission, maybe not. But physically bolt up and work, yep.

I had it rebuilt years ago,,,,,but paperwork is probably long gone, Do all TH350 have trans cooling lines?

Yes.Does this transmission have a vacuum modulator? Where is it located?How many bolt holes in the pan?

Should be th350. Why are you asking about cooler lines?

i read something in Hemmings that I thought said some TH350 did not have cooling lines....

You were confusing me.I was trying to figure out what you had that you thought was a th350 with no coolant lines, that's why I kept asking questions. Sorry.
