I want to put hydraboost in my '78 'burb and have an opportunity to get one off a 1979 K30. Problem is it has manual steering and I'm not sure if the boosters were the same as the ones with power steering. Does anyone know if it has the pressure out port for the steering box? Or should I continue to look for one out of a power steering truck?

Did you count the number of ports on the hydroboost unit?

No, it's an hour away from me and I haven't contacted the seller yet. Was just curious if anyone ran into a hydraboost setup with manual steering or if anyone knows if they are the same with a plugged pressure port.

Haha, I'm an idiot. Disregard this. The ad said it had a manual steering column. It's a stick, not manual steering LOL

How much is he asking? I finally caved and bought a parts store one because of the lifetime warranty. Might want to price one and compare.

I'm actually hoping to get 2 setups. This guy has a '79 and is asking $75 for everything, booster, master, lines, and pump. But he's overpriced, he also wants $250 for the hood, lol.
Also seeing if someone down in St. Louis will ship me the one they are selling. It's off an '83 and has everything and he wants $25. I offered $40+ shipping for his troubles. He's checking into shipping prices.

I believe you will also want to pickup the pedal assembly from a hydro boost truck. Iirc they are different.

I could also be imagining things.

I've heard the mounting pins on the pedal were different, but I've installed them on vac boost trucks before without swapping the pedals and they've always worked fine. If I run into a problem I'll just drill a hole and weld in a bolt, lol.

Good deal! Gives me hope for doing a hydro swap after I swap to a 5 speed. :waytogo:

The pin IS in a different location on a hydroboost.

It may be but I've never had any problems installing a hydraboost on a vacuum pedal.

Not overpriced at all. I bought a used HB unit off craigslist for $20. It leaked. Thought it was a waste of twenty bucks until I went to buy one at the auto parts store and found out there was a $60 core charge. So the craigslist deal ended up saving me $40.
