I just put a 12 inch lift in my 87 k10, I got an offset plate for the rear to bring it back an inch and I think I'm going to shim it. It's my first time taking the measurements for a shim so I want to see what everyone else did so I know if my measurements are in the same ballpark.. thanks!

With that much lift, I don't think you can set it to the proper angle and still be within the working limits of the u-joint, if it's a stock type shaft. Or are you running a CV-type shaft?

I'm no expert at all, but I think you basically want the pinion to point right at the output shaft, maybe downward of that by a degree or two. But definitely check with somebody that knows more than me, lol.

I read a few sites about how to measure and what degree you want it at.. I was just curious if most everyone w a 12 inch lift did a 6 degree shim then I would know to just go for that. I might just have my driveshaft guy check it out and see what he thinks.. thanks!!
