I like the 78 impala  If the drivetrain on that Nova is solid and runs decent that'd be a pretty intriguing trade! :)

Wha?? There's nothing wrong with a 78 Nova. They're way better looking than a 78 Rustang or a 78 Impala. :yucky:

I'll agree that 68-72's look better though.

It was them fedrally mandated crashin bumpers what made them look different, added a few pounds too.:chair::shocked:

78 Nova Body !!! :yucky: 68-72 Nova Body :manos:

While I like the '68-'72 much better, I like the later body too. It's the '73-'74 that I'm not as fond of.

I'd LOVE a '78 Impala coupe!

I'm supposed to go look at it tomorrow. He stopped to see the truck today, but he wants to see the 5.3 too and I don't have it here at home. The Nova doesn't currently run, it still needs some assembly. But the pic of the lifter valley says the motor has very little run time.

Yup, but the same goes for the 5.3 included with my truck. The only motor he can hear run is the 4.8 with the funny noise. I know it's good, but it's a gamble for him.

Went and looked at the Nova today, it ain't bad. Pretty good body, a couple small areas that need patched, and they really are small and easy areas. Interior is complete besides carpet. Seats, door panels, dash, headliner, etc is all in great shape. Has a '90-'91 GM crate 454 with very little miles on it, basic replacement motor with small cam and peanut port heads. Th400 with about 80K on it. 8.5 rear axle, not the little 7.5 unit. Big and little Weld wheels with old tires. Also included is a new set of headers, a Hurst shifter, a new Jeg's fuel pump, a new set of frame ties, and some other parts I'm probably forgetting. He wants to trade even for my '99 Silverado.

...Or this:

The Nova as described above, but without the 454. Instead of the 454 would be: A couple 454 builders, a couple 327 builders, a couple pairs of big block heads (one set are 781's), some fancy distributor, a couple SBC intakes, a not very old Eddy carb, and $250.

I think I'd rather have the Nova how it is now with the fresh motor, but the other stuff would help out other projects. And some cash would be nice too. I can't decide.

Hey I found something you or someone on here nearby might be interested in. On the Jeep forum there's a 454, already had machine work done, good crank/new bearings installed, WITH engine stand (kinda junky), with what looked like peanut port heads that need worked over, not sure if the pistons/rods are included, and apparently has a hot cam in it already. All this for $250. Someone better get it quick before I spend money I dont have!

Since it is a local offroad forum it's a great resource for parts. I got my D60, 14 bolt and tires from that site, as well as a bunch of other miscellaneous stuff like CBs, guns, ammo, etc. They've had several trailers I wish I could have bought for hauling the mud truck to other races.

I forgot about that! That's a really good deal... and would be cool in your truck, lol.

I'm glad you showed it to me, I check there every other day if not every day. It's crazy how much stuff is posted for sale there, the local 4x4 forum here might have a new post to the classifieds once a week.

This will be one of my more foolish choices in life, but I agreed to trade my pickup for the Nova. I'm getting it with the fresh 454, and he's throwing in the newer Eddy carb too. Should have some pics later tomorrow.

So what's a good Nova forum?
