I just wanted to say that keeping classic cars alive - and keeping these vehicles around on the road is a genuine experience for me, as I have been always interested both in History, and older vehicles.
My truck, a 1985 Scottsdale C10 Longbed, had sat in a yard for many years. With years of neglect, a 350 engine swap, and a poorly tuned Quadra-jet, I had to work on it.
I've put about 3 months, starting in January, and it obviously shows, with tons of small little issues that would cost me hundreds, but I'm okay with that. It's something new to me, and I'm comfortable with working on way more complicated vehicles than this.
So far I've re-tuned the carburetor with someone whom is very familiar with it, tuned it to be just right, replaced both idler arms, the suspension, fixed the horn, the cabin light, the choke wire, and finally, put the dash and bezel in - which I'm doing today.
I am young, at only 18, but I do understand the implications that this truck had for the 3 previous owners, and I plan on giving it the love that it had with the first Owner, Mr. Lytle, almost 40 years ago.
Once again, thank you for letting me join this forum, and I hope I can share the love of the Squarebody with you guys, and sorry for the rant.
