Hello, I have a 1985 Chevy K5 blazer and a 1983 K20. The Blazer, bought in 2004 while I was in the Marines on leave. Did have a 305 which I did convert to a 5.3 out of a wrecked 2003 Chevy truck in late 2007. The 305 was smoking good and using oil. Was going do the swap after coming home from my 3rd tour in Iraq in early 2007 and did not happen . Shot at during combat which I was shot in my lower right leg 3 times which had to be amputated. Was in the dumps during my recovery which I got over waiting for my prosthetic leg. The K20,was a purchase in 2009 which someone put in a worn out 305 in place of the 350 and I converted it to a 12 valve Cummins diesel. It does go now.

I also learned not to let my disability hold me back and got to the blazer once I got my prosthetic leg getting used to wearing it. The Cummins swap in the K20 was my idea after doing my research.

It is and I put in a 4L80E. Did fix the issues with the 12 valve Cummins before I put it in,one was take the timing cover off and fix the killer dowel pin problem. Pounded that pin back in and made a plate securing it with an inside timing cover bolt. I caught it in time, was starting to come out.
