Rebuilding my 86 Square Deluxe that only had the defroster heater with no vents originally. Wanted to check if there are any good aftermarket options to replace the full unit, hopefully smaller? Just looking for ability to provide defroster and heat for winter and foggy windows.

Please share for any options that fit under the stock dash?

What capability do you want to add? Basic defrost and heat usually works well in all the trucks if the system is working properly. Then I think some non-A/C trucks have a dash vent option to give you better warm weather venting. However, I’ve never actually looked at a non-A/C truck with dash vents.

If you add the full A/C system you get cooling and moisture removal (A/C dehumidifies), but there are a lot of parts needed to add factory air.
