I figure I would give some update photos on my factory hi back bucket seats. For those who are curious I originally went with USA 1 industries for covers. Well after 15 weeks and being lied to on dates 4 times, I canceled and went with Classic Industries covers. These fit and installed nicely. I just need a steamer to get the remaining wrinkles out. First few photos are where I started from.

This was a 1978 C30 Cheyenne. Out of Tolland CT junkyard. I wasn’t even looking for these, just saw a square and went over to investigate while getting a VW part. Asked for price if I pulled em and got the whole setup for 150$ including the tab brackets that are welded to floor. All in I’m about $650-700 restoring these right now. I did all the labor myself right down to the foam work.

Yes those are them in the truck lol. The guys at the yard gave me looks like i was nuts buying them. This was a ton of work and not for the faint of heart as the photos show. And they are extremely rare so you can only imagine my surprise finding these at a modern junk yard that scraps vehicles in a yard every 90 days. I’ve heard only less than 1% or so of these trucks got bucket seats. I’d argue this is a rarer option that the factory tachometers.

Yeah... I bought seats and console first weekend. Didn’t have the money for the panels at that moment. Went back next week and they were gone, door cranks and all.

That’s ok though. You’ll hate me for this photo. I scored these off craiglist from a kid who converted a beautiful original tan interior to a cruddy LMC Black Set.
