My gas guage stopped working. When the ignition is off it reads half tank. As soon as I turn the key to accessory or start the truck the needle pegs over to full and stays there. If anyone could give advise or an answer it would be greatly apperciated.

First guess is either bad sending unit or broken ground wire somewhere...

check your grounds. there will be either a purple, blue or black wire coming from the top of the tank to a bolt on the frame. It is harder to see the ground bolt on the driver side, but the passenger side tank ground bolt can usually been seen by looking down in between the cab and bed.

unbolt it, clean the frame, bolt and wire loom piece. then hook it back up, check your gauge and see if it is working. if not it may be broken inside the tank or a broken wire some where else.

I went thru this same thing with mine. I had to completely re wire mine and just run the wire to the back of the guage, because the circuit board, if you can call it a board, was bad
