Looks like the standard across many trucks is to cut them out when they get rowdy and stuck. Considering the level of rust I'm battling for this frame off resto, I want to cut mine to install new leaf springs on the front.

Rear bolt on the leaf soring came out easy peasy. The front....even the sledge doesnt budge it. Problem is, WHERE THE HELL. do I buy new bolts at? I don't see them online. Even on rock Auto I thought I found it but the picture was of a u bolt.

Can anyone help? If you need a picture i can supply one.

You're talking about the bolt for the leaf spring mounts at the front of each leaf pack?

Checking Rockauto for you, it should be the same as the listed shackle bolts.

9/16" x 4.5" or 5"

At diy4x.com, you can order a set of greaseable bolts to make it ride a little bit smoother.

Same with ORD,

More than likely they are the 9/16" bolts, but make sure to double check before you order.

At those prices I'm half tempted to buy 2 in each size just so they are waiting when I get back to town .

I got mine at Lowes, 9/16x5 grade 8. They were just a little over $4.00 each.

I lied. Got the Rock Auto ones. I liked the ones from ORD but their shipping prices just were insulting for the bolts.

There are some things I don't mind spending money on but some things that just hurt my sensibilities. I'll pay $1500 for a TV or a turbo or something, but ill be damned if i'm paying $15 for some body soap or something. :D

ORD has some really nice things, but their shipping is quite high. I try to make sure to get everything I need at once instead of numerous smaller shipments.
