Hi, I'm giving away a Driver Side Gas Tank Sending Unit because I shouldn't have ordered it. It's brand new in the original box. Never been used. It was ordered from LMC Truck August 2023. It is LMC part number 32-4036. I should have ordered 32-4044 (and I've got that now).

LMC says it's for 1973-1979 (Gas). Includes the sending unit, the rubber gasket, and the metal locking ring.

I don't see the sense of just throwing it away. If you want to arrange for shipping from my residence in Sicamous, British Columbia, Canada, please let me know. Thanks, Mark

I would be interested. I'll send you a DM when I'm at my desk not on a phone.

I'm in Los Angeles CA and Im not in a big hurry for this.

Cheers! (As, in my experience, Canadians like to say.)

What was the difference between the 1979 and 1980 fuel senders? diameter opening to the tank?

All I know is what it says in the LMC manual. They are parts 32-4036 (73-79) and 32-4044 (80-89). They are both drivers side and both 3 outlet. The diameter opening is the same as I can see. Please see attached picture of 32-4044 (and compare to above picture of 32-4036).

I'd say the position of the three outlets is different. On 32-4036, from picture left to right, there are 3/8, 5/16, and 1/4 outlet sizes. On 32-4044, it is the opposite. Also, the position of the tank sender terminal (fuel level) is different.

@AuroraGirl Passes my stiffer. As you know the only difference between the right and left side sending units is the direction of the metal line. And you can put the wrong side sending unit in a tank. For example a left sending unit in a right tank. It just takes a little extra rubber line to get them going in the right direction. 16 & 20 gallon tanks use the same sending units as the depth is the same.

I'd have taken up the generous offer but I'm not ready to drop the tanks just yet and someone else probably really needs it bad.

Nice to see generosity on the web.
