I know you guys are probably gonna hate me starting a thread on a gm forum that says ford lol but my question is, what is the best way I can lift my rear end of truck up a little to give it that old f100 "rake" like they all had. ever sonce I did new ball joints springs and shocks in front it makes it look too level. I know its probably better that way but I would like to have the rear sit just a tad higher that the front. btw my truck is 1984 c10 short bed if that helps any.. thanks in advance fellas

Add-a-leaf, a small block, but both would require new U-bolts. Ford did that because they couldn't make it sit level and still haul. Lol so they tossed in a little suspension Viagra and made them sit goofy. Lol most people get a leveling kit to raise the front end to level it out.

ok so its either add a leaf or blocks> or both? know anyone who makes a kit? idk I just happen to like the raked look and since I redid most of my front suspension and need to do rear shocks I might as well go ahead with the rear

I checked your link but none for c10, I think I found some on rockauto. Yeah 2 inches is probably what I would lift it. Also what shock height should I use for it? And will my pinion and u joint angle be off? Or is this add a leaf just a soimple bolt on thing?

It will work on a C10 as well. It will change your pinion angle a little. Is your truck A long or short bed? Shocks probably C20 would be the proper length. Bolt in yes simple pretty much just have to be careful when disassembling the leaf pack. C clamps are your friends when doing this.

Truck is shortbed. I do not want to make any modifications in order to keep everything in the right angle or whatever I'm looking for just a quick fix. So if I got helper springs and u bolt kit and shocks is that all I need?

Pretty much. Regardless of how you do it blocks or spring it's gonna change the pinion angle, but probably not enough to hurt anything.

I wasn't sure what was meant here by "rake," and when you said this, stock photos of 1973-79 F100s just came flying in my brain. Lol

If you replaced the front springs, why not replace the rears with new factory ones too? They probably have a bit of sag to them like the fronts did. Or are you after more rake than what gm designed originally?

There are not many springs on rear, so I assume it wasn't a HD Silverado new lol. But I am looking for maybe 2 in lift. Jiust so rear sits slightly higher that front. Im not a fan of my "gasser" lol

Just wondering. These trucks had a little rake from factory. And the last car i had, when it came time to replace some suspension, I did the same thing. When it came time for new front struts, I fired in a set of quick struts, instead of swapping the coils over like I did in the rear. Ended up with the same gasser look. On a little front wheel drive no less. Lol
