I think you and I see alike Paul. Thats probably great..I get it. 3.08s will keep you from breaking traction on accident , so much. Lol. ;) Seriously . 3.23 would prolly be high enough to be "too much" sometimes - I dont know you but man, I reckon you have done bout all you can, building for 3.08 and I bet it'll kick ass and ima fan!
*scrolls up*
little tires, right? Like a 28s...hmm assuming a 15s..hold on....
I had a '73 Camaro with 3.08s once and a '81 T/A with 3.23s. Love that gear, it's fast.
Lets figure it. https://tiresize.com/calculator/

Love that truck, looks like mine. Does this have the 12 bolt? I have two 73's, K10 W/3;73 12 bolt, K20 with 4:11's 14 bolt, and both have non overdrive trans. The 3:73 are nicer going down the road, 4:11 great for towing, but your 3:08's will be a cruiser. Need more torque, that 205 (same as I have in the K20, you are gonna like it!!), will do the job. I tow quite a bit with mine, and like the 4:11, but at seventy, she singing.

Yes it has the 12 bolt rearend. I want to change it to a 14 bolt at some point. I really would like to change it to 4.10 gears but I know it'll be screaming on the highway. We want to use the truck for going camping and things. Was considering putting a truck camper in it in sometimes. How many rpms are you turning at 60mph with the 4.10 gears?
