I’m wanted some kind of aftermarket plastic fender flares/simple ones though not like a huge bushwacker style, looking online not many to choose from. Has anyone ever used/cut some for another application to work ? Included side shot of the suburban and what kind of style I’m looking for

I actually have a new set of those flares. I test fitted them to a couple of my squarebody trucks and it wasn't a good match at all. It would have taken a fair amount of work and they would have looked awkward.

Okay that’s what I was wondering, I’m really surprised that there isn’t more options for a body style that was around for so long, I wonder about a set of GMT400 style set would be closer like these ..

I was thinking that! Ive had gmt400 sets on my 90' gmt400 and my 94' gmt400 burban but never tried to put them against my 78. They came on my 90 when i bought it and i put them on my 94 burb off my 90 when i got pulled over cus my 33's were "too wide" to be legal. Got a ticket and had to go before the magistrate for that bs.

Based on the pics of the gmt400 flares they look like theyd work better flip flopped... front on back and backs on front. Look at the shaping and how the flares for the front stop short before theyd reach the end of your burbs wheel opening curve.

Oh really you should see how close they look next to your 78 if you get a chance!

I like those, I’ve seen people use garden/yard border that looks similar to that but doesn’t have the nice look on the bends since it’s flimsily plastic. I kind of want mine to cover the fenders though too though. Hide alittle bit of rear fender rust on one side lol...

There are companies that make the mounting strip more in the middle of the flare. They would cover a small amount of rust, but the rust will not stop.
