I just installed my header back kit from summit and I got some leaks at the pipes that slide over the collecter. The guy who expanded them made them a weeee to big. He clamps are as tight as I can get them.

What should my fix be. Weld the leaks? Or putty?

The putty will just crack and blow out. You can put on a second clamp, but turn it 90 degrees compared to the other one. If that doesn't completely seal it up, miles of soot and corrosion will, lol.

I'd weld it myself.

I prefer a fully welded exhaust system myself, but that's just me.

Yep me too. With exception of I have headers, I want bolt on collectors so I can remove the pipes for the track. I usally go with straight pipe to muffler, then a turn down just before the rear axle. But, I have to admit, that band clamp looks like it would do a hell of a job, and that would be great for anyone who has to run a cat for smog inspection, then can take the clamps off and put their straight pipe back in after inspection.

Not worth it, you wont notice a difference, except for the exhaust smell....which you know of ll to well anyways.

I still want to get a pass side exit on this thing. or just run it straight out the back or something.
