So, I've got a interesting situation, not looking to do full electrical, just a few things.
I have a uncut firewall wiring harness that's original to the k5 (91), I have a cut up interior harness that's original to the k5 (also 91), I have a uncut 89 Subruban interior harness.

My goals:
Functioning instrument cluster

Functioning headlights, taillights, turn signals, and rear tailgate motor working

Holley efi working (just needs 12v source) + readings from engine temp, rpm's, maybe oil pressure

Dome light, and floor lights functioning on switch (don't care about door jamb switches)

My questions:

Can I take the original TBI harness(s) and do straight wiring
Example: oil pressure sensor to oil pressure pin on the cluster? (if that exists)
Or does the oil pressure sensor go to the computer first, then go to the cluster?

The cluster is cable driven speedo. Will that be a problem?

I'm running a 75 front end, and I have the entire wiring harness for all the lights and such, I cut it off the already raped truck with about 2 feet to spare. what's the easiest way to make it work with the 88-91 front end harness.

I don't really care if it looks like a rats nest of wires as long as I know where the wires are in the rats nest and what they do.
If you've followed the k5ton project, and are a little current on pricing , you'd know alot of money has went into it, so I don't want a fire LOL

I'm not a dummy, and I know how to use a multi meter, it's just a matter of "what goes where" and what does what.

Thanks guys!!!!!!

Tbi wiring is pretty much stand alone. Can be all eliminated and everything else would work.

So do I need the computer to get a signal for oil pressure to the cluster? Or can I just go straight from the sensor to the cluster (example)
I did a little reading last night and a little investigation. But still learning.

AWESOME! that'll be even easier. I'm running a 502bbc, th400, efi on the 502. Utilizing nothing original to the truck besides frame and body. So that sounds stupid simple.

Anyone know what this wire does? It's off a 75. I don't see a plug like that on my 91's front end

Yes! It attaches to the Proportioning Valve.

Where does it go as far as into the harness of the 91? I didn't really see a spot for it. There is 2 plugs a little up stream on the harness that I haven't made it to yet.

I think it is a shorter wire in newer harness because switch location moved. It lights up brake light on the dash when one of the brake circuits fails

Assuming yevgenievich is correct that it IS for the 'BRAKE' light, it should come out of the loom near the drivers' side front frame. I'm not sure about a '91 tho.

Pink and white, it's a little further up, about 1.5 feet from where the main junction is

Nevermind. On my 90 Subruban that's for the windshield wiper fluid.
