Kind of working on getting the truck running and came across an odd issue. I have a 12v switch line going to the + side of the electric choke on an Edelbrock carb. Unhooked the wire shows 13.x volts. When I hook it up the voltage drops to 4ish + or -.

Any thoughts what could cause this to happen? I've never seen voltage drop like that.

Thanks!

you have a bad connection or switch. Use you voltmeter checking voltage and work your way back to the power source. could be bad crimp, bad wire, or bad switch

C10Mix Master - When I get the truck back together I will look into this. It's all factory wiring but on a 40 year old truck anything is possible.

Red Rex - That kind of sucks. But I suppose I could connect it to the heavy ground wire by the alternator if needed, or at least follow the same route.

Thanks guys!!

Sounds like you got a short in the choke and it's grounding out when you connect it.
