I've just installed these drop shackles, but they are hitting the bed.
How do I fix it without having to raise the bed?

Looks like you'll either have to shave the wood in that area, or move the springs to the next hole in the shackles and trim the shackles. That 1" difference will raise the truck about half an inch.

Considering 1” to 2” drop shackles for the rear. I’ve got a 1/2 ton Stepside with heavy duty springs. Any problems to be aware of?

If you use 2" you will run into the same problem as the original poster did. Either going with 1" might help or you will need to notch the rail under the bed.

Why did those shackles look like thick plumbers tape?
