So...lol I currently have the wiring and drivetrain of a stock 1994 TBI 350/4L60e with a 1991 burb NP241C for driver drop and electric speed sensor.

Looking to improve again. If I bought a late 90s k2500 for parts: wiring, motor, 4L80e...what else do I need? Reusing my 241.

-I'd assume a new drive shaft built.
-Engine and/or trans crossmember need changed?
-AC hoses obviously
-any altered or added sensors?
-will steering column shifter still mate?
-assume a transfer case adapter

Thanks.

Or at this point will it be the same effort to do a 5.3L LS swap with a 4L80E? I feel the early vortec would be a little simpler.

Lol also debating switching to manual and grabbing a nv4500. I'm currently so indecisive on what to do next.

Looking to make my truck a little more DD friendly. Largest thing I regularly tow is a my 24' pontoon boat.

Easier yeah but gains are minimal, do the 5.3/6.0 with the 4l80, you will need a 241 with 32 splines to match the 80 or you will need to swap out your input on the t case. Same for the 4500.

I know LS system needs higher fuel pressure. What about the early vortec?

If by vortec you mean 96-99 spider type... they need around 60 psi

About some trouble for either set up. 6.0 or 8.1 would be preferred for me
