Looks to me like scorpion did the math for me already! I will probably trim the bezel off and keep the radio mounted in the steel of the dash with no bezel around it. However I am still open to being convinced otherwise!

Here is what I did....it was a lot of work but it fits in well...still need to get to the upholstery shop to get the dash covered.

I have to take a better finished photo after the fiberglass, but I attached one I took from when I first drove it.

Why not put one in a center console in front of the seat? Seems a bit of a reach to touch it while driving. Unless you have a remote.

I'm planning on building one when I do mine but, for speakers not the deck.

poor truck
I hear ya. But the dash cages are a dime a dozen at my pick n pull. If I wanted one like that I’d do it. I personally prefer the motorized flip outs. I like the way mine covers the ac controls when not in use.
provides all the info I need while driving.

The only reason I want to put a double Din in a different location is that the stereo is already so hard to see in the lower spot that I wonder how hard it would be to use. I have been thinking of the upper bezel and relocation the ac controls, or doing it in the dash pad and eliminate or relocate the one vent. Pics on this thread are amazing information.
