Dodge Tranny Swap

My brother in law has a '00 Dodge Ram 2wd 3/4 ton pickup with a failing automatic. It also has the 'ol 360 V8. I don't know what tranny it currently has, but I'm sure it's got OD and probably electronically controlled. Is there a better (older) trans that can be swapped in without much trouble?

Call me Dave, I didn't feel like researching it myself. It's just a Dodge, lol.

I think the Torque Flight 727 is a close resemblance to a TH350 but I have no friggin idea about bellhousing compatibility.

I'm assuming since it's a 360 that it's the same pattern Mopar always used, kinda round looking I think.
