I'm curious on what happened to this 700r4 in this I'm stripping out. I was told it was rebuilt but unknown miles on trany when it quit. All I know is the guy was hauling a load of mulch and lost all gears like it was in neutral.

I checked park and the truck will not roll in park. I checked the trany fluid and it was brown and smelled burnt. I also noticed that tail end of the and spline end of the driveshaft are soaked in something. I'm starting to wonder if somebody getting stories mixed up what was replaced or rebuilt. The trany or engine?

Hard to say, but you should get a pretty decent return turning it in for core. 700R4s fetch more.

Most likely burned up the 3/4 clutch pack or Direct drive clutch pack. The 88-92 700r4's are the more sought after units.
