Deleting equipment your truck was built to utilize is a joke , imo.

Deleting anything that was created by the CARB has always been a joke.

Believe it or not, I was once sixteen too. After deleting everything I could for no good reason and no benefit, I found myself wishing I wouldn't have devalued my ride like I was some kind of mother ****** PIcasso the BUTCH thinking I was gonna finally whup up on them Mustangs.

To heck with the plantet.
Keep the PCV and the Charcoal canister. Route the PCV to a catch can because it will keep it a little bit happier.
Cats will make you smell like fuel and kill brain cells, but you’ll never fall asleep at the wheel cause those will keep you going. It will also make it a bit louder.
EGR I think is useless I can’t really remember
MPGs might go down a bit but we drive these trucks for the Smile per gallon. I have a truck that requires a tune for any little thing you do, I really hate that aspect. I think OP is doing more of this for simplicity, so do what ever, IMO you won’t really be lowering the vehicle value because this is a relatively old truck that is a classic. Good luck!

If he wants power he could just hop it up or get a 350/383/400/ if he has money he could do a 434 or BB I agree with what @smoothandlow84 aid, it just gets in the way.

I'm curious why gutting the emmission system would have a negative effect on fuel economy? I thought the emissions systems would choke the engine and allowing it to breathe better should help wouldn't it? I have an 82 C20 that I'm planning to put headers on and get rid of the smog pump.

More air through the engine means more gas going in as well, thus lower mileage. Dirty plugged air filters are actually really good for fuel mileage, don't let the commercials for Autozone fool you. Does hurt power though.

Breath easier, meh it's all sort of relative to the components and compatibility between them in the system. Short answer is the entire system was designed and tuned to have the whole multitude of systems running together.

This thread is almost 2 yrs old so who knows what happened with the op's rig.

Mainly it would be the EGR valve, the heater riser or EFE and thermac, removing those does have a negative effect on mileage. The EGR causes exhaust gas to displace air and fuel when it's on, thus lowering combustion chamber temps, reducing ping and increasing fuel economy, the EFE and thermac help the fuel vaporize better when the engine is cold, hence better burn, better economy.
