Dash covers

Good morning I have a question about the dash cover I bought from Holley/Brothers trucks I have the oem dashboard out of the vehicle would it be better to put the cover on the dashboard while I have it off of the truck or put the dashboard back in then glue it down, thought maybe somebody else may have done this and wanted to know the pros and cons of either Thanks guys and gals

I did mine with the dash out of the truck. Test fit and trim if necessary. Prep work is key, deal with any cracks, clean the old vinyl and get extra silicone. I placed mine upside down with some weights on it while it cured.
