Hello GMSB! Ive been a lurker here for quite some time and have just now begun work on my surprisingly well maintained 85 K10. The truck has a 305, Holley 600, 4spd, 3.08 gear setup. My previous 85 K10 had the same aside from a crate 350 and 3/4 axles (not sure of the gears) and I would like to return to this configuration. Which of these CL listings is the best option for a swap or should I keep looking? I would like at least a 3.73 ratio for gas mileage and other reasons like it being a Chevy truck that needs to act like one. Thanks in advance.

The second listing looks like a good deal especially if it's $350 for everything.

The first guy says he just trying to clean out the garage. My ass !!! He's trying to clean out your wallet. Way to much IMO.

The 2nd deall all day long. Keep in mind, those are fixed hubs for a Full Time NP203 Transfer Case set up. You'll want to change that to Locking Hubs for your Part Time transfer case. If the NP203 and Transmission are included too, take them and put them on eBay. Someone may need it, or the NP203 for a doubler set up.

Exactly what I was thinking. Might end up getting them for free depending on condition of trans and TC.

Thanks everyone. I'm learning a lot on here. I used to come to look at interior and electrical and eventually made my way into engine, suspension, and running gear. This is a gold mine of info.

Just to clarify, what gears are these? I noticed in one of the other threads they only made one set for the GM K2500. Were all of those AWD? I didnt know that existed.. Or have I misunderstood?

When you say AWD do you mean Full Time 4x4? The NP203 is the transfer case that comes in our Squares that is Full Time 4WD. The others, NP205, NP208 and NP241C in the later 80's are all Part Time 4WD units.

What are you asking about what gears are in? The 3/4 ton axles? What's most common in the 3/4 ton axles is 3.73 or 4.10. Both are good ratios for a 4x4 IMO with OEM or just slightly larger tires.
