was reading through here somewhere
and some of you were talking about using a corvette starter.
Well I burnt the starter up yesterday
So I went down and picked up an 85 corvette starter to replace it.
Wow ! What a difference
Works great and fast!

What's different about it compared to stock? Pretty sure those were just a basic 350 starter. I also thought an '85 Corvette used the 153 tooth flywheel and straight bolt pattern. Trucks were the 168 and staggered bolt pattern.

In the mid 90's GM started going with a starter that was a smaller body and a little more powerful.

Unless someone had installed the smaller flywheel in the truck.
