Out of a 1987 Sierra Classic. Excellent condition - mechanically and cosmetically.

No lens included. Well, you can have it if you want, but it's not in nearly as good shape as the rest of the cluster.

The gauge faces and shadow board look like new:

The bucket is completely intact (not a crack or split anywhere):

and the PC board is mint. The copper is slightly curled at the 4WD indicator hole (see my thumb) - but that lamp is not powered through the PC board anyway. It has it's own set of leads.

The gear indicator is around somewhere - and is included.

Electronic speedometer too, for those wanting to do a TBI conversion.
I`d guess it`s a electronic unit, being from a 87 anyways.
if I did`nt already have one, I`d be jumping on this deal.

Yep, cable driven with an optical sensor for the ECM.

Also, 84' up cruise-control trucks had the same optical sensor (made the TBI conversion on my 84' real easy like!)

On the 1987's there is a little photoelectric cell mounted on the back side of the bucket.

On the front side of the plastic instrument case (the bucket), but behind the speedometer face, is an "arm" that is mounted to (and spins in sync with) the speedometer cable.

Between the photocell and the spinning arm is a little window that allows the cell to monitor the RPM of the speedometer cable.

Where, if anywhere, the photocell sends that pulse rate is beyond me - maybe the ECM or cruise control system. I only go up to 1986, after that things get way too complicated.

ECM and cruise gets that signal as I recall, in 1987-89 anyway. Maybe just cruise in 1982?-86.

Yep, that was the only thing it tied to in my 84' until I added the TBI components.

Is this part still for sale? If not i am still interested in some information. Would this cluster work in a 1980 K10? I inherited this truck after my grand father passed, and I am looking at spending some deployment money fixing it up taking care of it the way he wish he could. I drove the truck all the way from Minnesota to Georgia. It is pretty beat up and needs quite a bit of work but she is all mine now. Thank you in advance.

Tim
