I have a sound coming from my rear passenger side wheel only. Sound goes away as soon as I get over 5ish MPH.

- Happens only while “rolling” at under 5MPH.

- Sounds like a rotational metallic “clank” every time the wheel comes around mixed with a twisting spring creak kind of noise.

- happens regardless of if I’m breaking or not.

I was thinking maybe the hardware inside that brake drum is screwed up?

Any other ideas?! Thanks.

I'd pull the wheel to check if something is loose to the point that the wheel may be contacting the drum. Then pull the drum apart to ensure that everything is properly situated. It could be as simple as some of the wheel weights came loose and are contacting the drum at the top of the drum when gravity pulls them away from the rim.

Just gotta take a few minutes for a quick look-see.

Are your trim rings and caps fastened properly? Probably a little more to this but it’s worth checking before you take the wheel off.

Yep, check center caps and lug nut torque first thing.

If that's ok, pull the wheel and then the brake drum to see what might be going on. It's possible something like this might be found when you remove the drum:

Do you have hubcaps? I had the same sounds once and it was a rock in my hubcap. Would go away as soon as the wheel was spinning fast enough for centrifugal force to hold it in place.
