Been wanting to install a bench, so our daughter can ride up front, but didn't want to give up the armrests, and headrests of the captain's chairs, both for comfort and safety.

So what pops up today on the local CL, brand new, still in the box, and in the correct grey "striped" velour material? A center console jump seat for 1990 Suburban. Bought it.........

Your wish is my command ^^

Does anyone have a nice grey lap belt they'd like to sell. It'd be nice to have one that matches the rest of the belts rather than a generic black one from NAPA.

Nice find! It's even got the storage compartment underneath. Didn't know they made those aftermarket.

It looks like a Steelhorse seat.

Shipping label says: "4 Wheel Parts Wholesale" in Kaufman, TX

No brand name showing, or instructions. It appears to mount on 4 steel legs shaped like this __/---- and bolts to a pair of bars under the seat, and then bolts through the floor.

Man, I hate to drill through the floor.

Thanks. I sort of so-so about it. I don't like that the upholstery isn't OE and if I were more hardcore, I'd have it recovered using the OE stuff that I've harvested out of wrecked 'burbs (that's how I was able to save the front seats).

No idea how they intended it to be mounted using their 4 huge mount "legs" so I did my own thing; 3/4" diameter black pipe "legs" under its 2 main frame pieces, and 3/8" grade 8 bolts, washers, and nylocks through the frame, the pipe, and the floor.

It's also not well suited for anyone other than a child, about 10-11 and under. My 12 year old probably won't be comfortable in if for a long drive, but it'll be nice for her to come up front when we're in the twisty 2 lane stuff that makes her (and would make me as a passenger) car sick.

Need to install a seatbelt next.

Looks damn close to OEM to me.
