I have a 74 K15 stepside with an 85 cab and bed.

The truck came with no bed floor so I'm trying to build it. I tried finding videos or reference photos on how to assemble it. The ones I could find aren't very detailed. 4 questions:

1. Does anyone have a link to a good video or similar source?

2. Do the wood planks UNDER or OVER the lip at the front of the bed?

3. The angle bracket on the sides of the bed have those bolts in them. They don't want to come out, before I start torching or cutting, any tricks?

4. Can the angle bracket be removed all together? On the driver's side there are no bolts fastening it to the side of the bed but the thing won't budge. Is it spot welded in? I can't tell.

Holy hell, that's one heck of a gooseneck mount!

I'm sure it's all covered in the link above, but it's much easier to install the wood with the bed removed. The wood goes above the front rail and under the side rails. The side rails are welded to the bedsides.

2. Do the wood planks UNDER or OVER the lip at the front of the bed? Over.

3. The angle bracket on the sides of the bed have those bolts in them. They don't want to come out, before I start torching or cutting, any tricks? They are welded in place

4. Can the angle bracket be removed all together? On the driver's side there are no bolts fastening it to the side of the bed but the thing won't budge. Is it spot welded in? I can't tell. they are welded also..

You will have to pull the bed and remove the front of the bed to get the side pieces in.

here a couple pics that might help

Are you using painted, chromed, or polished stainless steel strips?

I put polished stainless with maple boards in the bed of a 1941 Hudson pickup. All the bolts were also polished stainless. Looked really nice. Had to send the strip maker measurements for the length and holes because they'd never done a set for a Hudson before. Came out perfect.
