You might consider giving Willhoite's Cams in OK city a call...he fixed my up with a LT4 Hot Cam regrind for about 1/2 the price of new, every bit as good and can grind one to your specs.He may even be good with recommendations, not sure. But, wouldn't hurt to give 'em a call.......

So I found out which cam I have in the truck right now, it’s a pretty cheap summit racing classic cam, it’s a hydraulic flat tappet 288/298, lift is .444/.466 and the rpm range is 1600-5200, lobe separation is 112. I’m just wondering how much more performance I could get if I decided to switch to a different cam, thanks

thumpr cams have the great idle your looking for "lope" come in different durations and lift to fit needs seems like they get the lope by a tight LSA 108 or 106 compares to a 112 or 114

2500 stall seems to be a basic number on converter remember the rougher the idle, vacuum can be greatly decreased power brakes can be an issue

If you call 5 cam companies - you will likely get 5 completely different cams unfortunately.

The World Sportsman II heads, (I have a set of them also), like as much lift as you can provide with all means possible in a streetable cam. This is where a roller would help,( if it's possible for you to utilize a roller), along with a stall & more gear.
I hope you don't have a stock shortblock, do you ?

4.56 is a great all around gear for 35's and a smallblock, my '83 K30 was 4.56/350/33's.

Those heads are similar to Vortecs in some aspects, much better intake flow than exhaust, and need to be cammed the same, except they can use far more lift stock and will still improve flow with lifts past .500"orc .550".
