C10 1978 engine colour code

Hi there! been a while since i visited this site and i've just pulled the engine from my truck.
I'm just about to sandblaster the engine and i kinda want it to be the right colour.
I've tried to google it but i can't find any sure source on which colour code my engine should
have.
The little colour that's left on the engine is almost green (is that right ?).

If someone can help me on this one i'll be a happy man :]

It was GM blue when it was new, you can get it at any parts store. Duplicolor DE1608 is what I used when we built my sons elcomino.

Hehe i dunno but the blue doesn't match up so well with the green colours on my truck.
The engine will be rebuilt with alu heads, efi and stuff so i guess i can go with any colour i want on the engine.
Just wanted is as original as possible quz everything else on it is.

Blue always made me think Ford motor.....Given the choice, I'd go with orange all day long!

I painted my '81 engine Chevy Orange. It was blue when I pulled it.

I just have to ask. Are you British or from some other European country, maybe french?
