Hey I'm new to this, having some problems. I have a 86 k10. Crossed the battery ends and now I have no headlight's, or parking lights and the battery light is on, on the dash. Battery won't stay charged. Replaced the alternator still nothing. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

crossing batt cables usually kills the alternator good probability it was toast. next check fuses and the fusible links on the firewall and by the starter.

Thanks, I've checked the fuses. How do I go about replacing the fusible links?

I can't find the ones that look like the ones on my truck.

when i rewired my engine compartment the ones i used are just a 6-8" piece of fusible link wire. add your own connectors and insulate with heat shrink tubing. here's mine with the links highlighted
