When I test drove Big 10 "Biggins" I noticed the grill badge was missing. Easy fix.
I am a C.A.D. guy. Sometimes CAD/CAM, sometimes just good ol' fashion CAD...cardboard aided design.
For this job, only the best, frozen pizza box cardboard.
The initial cutting, trimming and fitting is all trial and error, but eventually, success. Now, just trace onto desired material; 0.015 brass sheet from local hobby shop.
I don't cut to my trace lines, I "spare" the line. This way the rough edges and inside corners can be filed to final shape. BTW, none of the corners are sharp. They all have at least a 1/16" radius.
So after some filing and fitting the brass blank is ready for its debut...but wait, it looks too blah-plain.
I don't care for the horizontal bars...hows bout a sun burst?
A bit of carefully placed masking tape and a very fine abrasive...Taa daa! Sunburst.
Gloss clear coat and it's ready to mount.
Eazy pezy, Sunburst Bowtie.
