So here's the general rundown on my situation. I bought a cluster for my '87 GMC because the gauges were messed up. I thought I'd test the gauges whenever I took the bezel and lens off, and all the gauges moved when the key turned on and I had moved them. The coolant temp pegged left, the oil pressure pegged right, the fuel fair moves, but starts way to the right of full, and the hands are broken off the clock. What should I do from here? Should I work with the old cluster or test the other one I bought and then mix and match to make a working cluster?

What year did the new cluster come out of? If it's a different year, you may need to re-pin the cluster plug.
