Hello Everyone,
I am ordering a parking brake kit from LMC truck for my 86’ shortbox frame, for 84’-87’ chevy ran the parking brake cables along the driver side frame rail rather than up both sides like in 73’-83’
I have a 12 bolt rear end with the heavy duty 2 3/4 shoes…I think the rear end came out of a late 70s c10.
If I order the parking cable kit for an 86’ will it work with my late 1970s backing plates? Or did trucks from 84’-87’ come with a new backing plate to match the new cable system? I’m concerned if there’s a difference in how the parking brake cables feed into the backing plate.
Any info would be appreciated, if someone could post a pic of their backing plates from their 84’-87’ c10 that would be mighty appreciated. I’d hate to pay such a high shipping rate to get the kit to Canada only for it to be wrong. I attached a pic of my truck just for fun.
