Damn, why I am always broke??? This is the shifter I used back in the day for my hotrods. Alot of people don't even know how to use them. I have to give instructions to my parents everytime they drove my truck, just to get it out of park.
Do you have the box to it, with the rest of the pan brackets, Park/Netral and Back up light switch? Also, it appears you have the shift indicator for the 4 speed auto in it now, now about the 3 speed auto indicator?

For anyone else interested in a shifter, this one and I think its the Mega Shifter, the only 2 in B&M ratchet line up that are both 3 and 4 speed compatible, and also will run reverse valve body pattern.

Once you get it figured out, its 2nd nature, and you wouldn't use anything else for racing after you had one. I love 'em. I had 2 QuickSilvers. Its like a regular shifter from P to D only. Here is what confuses people, to get into Ratchet mode, you need to go to D, NOT neutral. From D, Tap or push the stick down. Now you are in ratchet mode. Hit it forward, you go into N. , hit it once back you are in 2nd, twice back you are in 1st (This is assuming 3 speed auto). From there, tap once back into 2nd, tap again in 3rd. No matter how hard you tap it or slam it, it only moves 1 gear at a time. So no way you can missshift at all. Tap again forward you are in N again. To get back into to regular mode, you have to tap it back once to get into D. Once in D, then you can lift the lever and now you can go like a regular shifter into N, R or P also. To make is simple, in Regular Shift mode you can get P, R, N, D only.
In Ratchet Mode, You can get N, D, 2, 1. Only. The big trick is to know, you have to be in D to be able to switch from regular mode to ratchet mode and vice versa. D is the only gate to enter and exit ratchet mode.

Hahaha, yeah my buddy tried to drive my old 75 Camaro back in the day. He got in it, started it up, fiddled for a few moments, turned it off and got out. Never left the garage.

LMAO, same here. Been there done it. They couldn't figure it out. Or here's the best one, you get a call, your truck is in the paking lot with the e brake on the shifter broke and its stuck in N, or same call, its 1st or 2nd and I can't get it to Park.

But once you get it, you got it, and you wouldn't have it any other way. My SIL got his dads 67 Nova for his 21st Bday and it had QS in it. He brings over to show me. Telling me all about the car, but then says it needs a new shifter, that this one is all F'ed up. :happy175: I said Oh hell, that sucks, that's a good shifter too. So then he offers me to take it for a drive. I forgot all about him telling me the shifter was broke. And I jumped in it, and just like riding a bike, remembered the shifter. I had that car going every which way but straight, grabbing 2nd gear chirp etc. I looked at him and my daughter, and their faces are white as a ghost. My SIL says, SUNOFABITCH, you're dad can ****** drive a race car !!! I thnk they both **** themselves. Then after we are all done, he says, how did you do all that with a broken shifter?? I said Oh yeah, you said the shifter is broke. There is nothign wrong with that shifter. LMAO, so I had to give him shifter class and he was good after that. That was some funny ****. :laughing1:

Very sore subject now. NO, we will not do pics or talk of Nova now. I will say this, its now sitting back at his dads, with rattle can primer job, tore apart, not running, and does not even have a steering column in it or a hood now. SIL, isn't allowed to touch my vehicles at all. Don't even ask. Its that bad !!!!

yes, its a really a very sad story of how all that transpired. The SIL rebuilt the 350 motor, that is JUST SITTING in the car for well over a year now. Hasn't even add oil yet or hooked up any wiring etc etc. What do think the odds are of this motor working right, starting up or not chucking a rod out the block in the first 500 miles???? He wouldn't wait on me to help him, and its his project so be it. But when they moved from Abilene, TX, I had to trailer the car for them to his parents house where it has sat ever since backed into the driveway without most of its interior, not running, no hood over the new motor, no steering column, blah blah blah, so you get the point and why I'd rather just leave it alone. Its caused many problems and hurt feelings over things said about it. So rather than dig it all up again, and relive, or trash this sale thread. I'm done explaining. You get the picture. :sad72:

Still have this? Looks like the black plastic base is on it?
How tall is it from the bottom of the base to the top of the handle? Wanting to use it in my truck if it is tall enough.
